Ashburton District Tourism Awards


Ashburton District Tourism recognises the need to encourage the development of quality tourism product throughout the district and these awards are our opportunity to celebrate businesses who are providing a high quality visitor experience.

The Ashburton District Tourism Awards are based on stage one of the New Zealand Tourism Industry Awards. Questions focussed on key challenges that the business have overcome to be successful, characteristics that make the business different, key business results and achievements, key markets, and how they promote the Ashburton District within their marketing activity. 80% of total points are allocated from the written entry and the remaining points are allocated from a site visit. Three industry judges from outside the Ashburton District include Tony Gimson - Beck & Caul Ltd, Blair Hartland - Tourism Frontiers NZ Ltd , and Judith Walker - Selwyn District Council will be carrying out this process. 

Eligable entrants are tourism businesses located within the Ashburton District boundary and/or business partners of Ashburton District Tourism.
