Bruce & Lyn Nell are third generation, owner operator, NZ farmers farming 8,000 sheep at Middle Rock in the scenic Lake Coleridge high country, one hour’s drive west of Christchurch. They have over 15 years experience of opening their home and farming property for visitors.

On arrival guests are welcomed by the Nells and taken on a coach or 4 wheel drive tour out onto the property where High Country farming activities are viewed and explained. Tours are personalised to the interests of their guests but the day can include a sheep dog mustering display, bottle feeding of lambs (in season) and meals in the farm homestead or garden. A feature of the farm tour is the panoramic views of Mt Hutt and the Upper Rakaia Gorge visible from the property. Small groups and families welcome. Allow a minimum of 2½ hours.

A sheep shearing demonstration can be arranged for larger groups.
